Abstract
In ancient China, a poor and humble family, the Foo family, runs an old run down teahouse. Everyone works hard to to keep the teahouse running and the little son, Tao Shu needs to take on more responsibility than the average boy his age. Through a series of adventures and stories, Tao Shu and his sister, Ling Ling learn meaningful lessons in life. The 5 episodes in this DVD explores the theme of cultural values. In episode 1, Tao Shu joins the village lantern-making contest with the help of eccentric Old Man Yu, whose finished lantern surprises everyone. In episode 2, when Old Man Yu claims a dragon has stolen his moon cakes, Tao Shu and friends try all sorts of ways to lure it out of the pond. In episode 4. Tao Shu meets the ferocious New Year monster, and discovers that appearances are deceiving. In episode 4, Tao Shu helps Ling Ling get the cloth shhe wants for a new dress but realises that he has taken it from someone else, so he thinks of a way for everyone to be happy this New Year. In episode 5, Tao Shu is told that it is bad luck to get angry on the first day of Chinese New Year. In the last episode, the village dragon boat race is on and the children form their own team to win it. They learn through a series of hilarious events that winning takes a lot of cooperation.
