My dad played for Raffles Junior College's hockey team from 1982 to 1983. He then went on to play for Singapore's Under-21 National Hockey Team. He was a midfielder and a penalty taker scoring 5/6 penalties during the season. Hockey is a dangerous sport. Throughout his life playing hockey, he had multiple injuries. Here are some of them - a broken nose, a broken rib, a sprained ankle (twice), a broken wrist (twice again), and finally a dislocated knee. The picture below shows him and his team with the Championship Trophy. My dad is at the bottom row, holding the trophy. I am very privileged to have a dad who has contributed to Singapore's history. He has played a pivotal role in my life. He has always supported me in my choice of sports. I love my dad very much.
