Abstract
With this release, harmonia mundi inaugurates a trilogy of recordings that will eventually comprise the complete concertos and piano trios of Robert Schumann. The instigators of the project, violinist Isabelle Faust, pianist Alexander Melnikov and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, champion these compositions with deep conviction and a choice of instruments that restores the delicate transparency and subtlety of their textures.
