Abstract
The opening chapter of Christian Gerhaher's project to record all of Schumann's songs. For Gerhaher himself, this release represents the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. Since Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's pioneering recording of the 1970s no other singer has devoted himself so comprehensively to Robert Schumann's complete lieder output. This release will focus on one key cycle.
