Abstract
10 days of mourning is come-of-age story about Singaporean Indian girl, Veena, who faces a cultural and personal identity during a visit to India. Feeling trapped by circumstances and her environment, Veena rebels by practising her own form of passive resistance. Her grandfather's gentle wisdom, her grandmother's heckling and a few suprising revelations, force Veena out od her shell and into the unknown world of her cultural identity and heritage.
