Abstract
In ancient China, a poor and humble family, the Foo family, runs an old run down teahouse. Everyone works hard to to keep the teahouse running and the little son, Tao Shu needs to take on more responsibility than the average boy his age. Whether he is out in the beautiful mountains or in town buying supplies, he always takes along his strange pet toad. Through a series of adventures and stories, Tao Shu and his sister, Ling Ling learn meaningful lessons in life. The 5 episodes in this DVD explores the theme of responsibility and humility. In episode 1, Tao Shu is sure Ling Ling has something to do with his missing flute, until the mystery is solved and he finally learns that sharing is better than false accusations. In episode 2, Tao Shu's father is jealous of the carpenter who has come to fix the roof. The two get into a fight and learn that pride gets in the way of good work. In episode 3, Tao Shi is supposed to be watching Ling Ling, but ends up losing her in the market. In episode 5, Tao Shu doesn't have enough money to buy a new toy, so he trades in Ling Ling's doll without telling her, only to realise that he has to work to right this wrong.
