The talk, the finale of a series of 4 sessions, discusses facets of bilingualism: how is bilingualism understood by individuals, families, teachers, policy makers? How is it defined and practiced? How is language competence measured? The panellists will look at these questions and more, on defining and being bilingual in Singapore. The Moderator: The discussion is moderated by Dr Ritu Jain, Senior lecturer at NTU and editor of the recently published volume, Multilingual Singapore. The Panelists: Dr Rita Elaine Silver, a researcher and educator at the National Institute of Education. Kevin Martens Wong, founder and director of Kodrah Kristang. Dr Baoqi Sun, a researcher and educator at the National Institute of Education.
