Abstract
Documentary of Mak Yong, a dance drama originated from Kelantan as a popular court entertainment. This is a comprehensive theatre act combining dance, opera, drama, and comedy. Except for three men, all the characters in a Mak Yong are played by women. It is the main dancer, called Mak Yong who develop the story which usually about legendary princes and princesses, suppported by a cast of 16 performers, and accompanied by a traditional music ensemble consisting of gongs, drums, and rebab played by all male musicians.
