This 2002 photograph shows a general view of the Burmese Buddhist Temple at 14 Tai Gin Road. The temple features traditional Burmese architecture. In the foreground, there seems to be a guard house and a metal fence which surrounds the temple ground. Founded in 1878 at Kinta Road, off Serangoon Road, the temple houses a white marble Buddha statue weighing 10 tonnes and standing at 11 feet. It was relocated to Tai Gin Road in May 1988. The construction of the present-day temple was completed in March 1992. Description by library staff. Title devised by library staff.
