He was Treasurer of Singapore Shipping Association (1967); Managing Director of Chip Seng Company Limited (1967); Patron of Jalan Besar Citizens' Consultative Committee (1968); Deputy Chairman of Ngee Ann Technical College Council (1968-1973); and Ambassador of Singapore to Japan (1973-1980).
