This is a half-length portrait of Mr. Thomas George Cotterell, General Manager of the Singapore Cold Storage from April 1958 to April 1964; succeeding Mr. John Ross McDougall, who served from 1951 to 1958. He joined Cold Storage as an accountant in 1947. He was a chartered accountant with Messrs. Derrick and Company (1937-1941); Manager with Socfin Company Limited (1941-1947); Chairman of the Singapore Manufacturers Association; President of the Rotary Club (1960-1961); Commodore of the Royal Singapore Yatch Club (1963); and President of the Commonwealth Services Club. He married Miss Elsie D.H. Cramer in June 1941. Title devised by Library staff.
