This is a 1992 photograph of two-storey terrace houses located in the neighbourhood of Sussex Estate at Clementi. Sussex Estate is named after the historic county of Sussex in England. The roads in the area have "English" sounding names such as Horsham, Arundel and Goodwood. The estate was developed in the mid-1950s to house the families of British senior non-commissioned officers. In 1975 when Clementi was being developed, Sussex Estate was the only pre-development feature that was retained, but it was demolished in 1997. The area where Clementi Avenue 1 is, used to be Sussex Estate. Title devised by Library staff.
