Information About

This is the facade of the headquarters of People's Association. The building was formerly the control tower and terminal building of Kallang Airport, near Mountbatten Road. Sir Shenton Thomas, Governor of the Straits Settlements, declared open the airport on 12 June 1937. It was closed down and later replaced by Paya Lebar Airport in 1955. After the People's Association was established on 1 July 1960, the old airport building became its headquarters. Title devised by Library staff.
