Close-up of Mr. Marinus van Breukelen, in his trademark white Mandarin collared suit with the shiny mother-of-pearl buttons. He was regarded as the doyen of Dutchman horse trainer in the local race circuit. He dominated the racing scene in the 1930s and 1940s. His winning horse of the Singapore Gold Cup - Punkawalla (1932), Fiesole (1934), Cooltipt (1939), Grand Prix (1941), and Longchamps II (1949).
