This 1966 photograph shows the air well of a typical Peranakan terrace house in Malacca. Some rattan and blackwood furniture can be seen. A Chinese fresco is painted above a casement window, with iron security bars. A gilded plaque is hung above the door. This picture was taken at the ancestral home to the late Tun Dato Sri Sir Cheng-lock Tan, the founder of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). Title devised by Library staff.
