This is a photograph of the facade of the Singapore Conference Hall and Trade Union House at 7, Shenton Way near Tanjong Pagar. Built between 1962 and 1965, it was declared open by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 15 October 1965. It served as the headquarters of National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) from 1965 to 2000, before it became home to Singapore Chinese Orchestra in July 2001 after major renovation works. It was gazetted as a national monument by the Preservation of Monuments Board on 28 December 2010. Title devised by Library staff.
