This is a half-length portrait of Mr. Cheong Quee Wah, a Colombo Plan Scholar, seated behind his desk. He was a student at Tanjong Katong Secondary School (1958-1961); Permanent Secretary for Defence (Nov 1977-1980), Home Affairs (1981-Mac 1986), Environment (Apr 1986-1992) and Law (Jan 1989-1992); Board Member of Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises or SCORE (1985); Chairman of Singapore Shipbuilding and Engineering Limited (1980), Cedar Girls' Secondary School Executive Committee (1984), CISCO (1981-Oct 1986) and Seletar Country Club (1990); Executive Chairman of Sembawang Engineering Private Limited (1992); and President of SembCorp Waste Management (1999-2000).
