This is a head-and-shoulder right profile of Edith Stevenson, a missionary nurse who volunteered to join British Military Hospital at Alexandra Road in 1941. She took care of wounded soldiers until staff were ordered to evacuate the hospital, and left Singapore on board the SS Kuala on 13 February 1942. Title devised by Library staff.
