This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Wee Heng Tin, Director of Schools at the Ministry of Education (1987-1996). He was teacher at Beatty Secondary School (1965-1967) and National Junior College (1969-1971); Principal of Dunearn Secondary School (1971-1975), Temasek Junior College (1977-1979) and National Junior College (1980-1982); Director-General of Education (Dec 1996-2004); Honorary Member of Academy of Principals (Singapore); Chairman of Singapore Educational Administration Society; and Member of National University of Singapore Council, National Institute of Education Council, and Board of Governors of Institute of Technical Education. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 1979, the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1988, the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1999; and the Distinguished Science Alumni Awards in 2005 by NUS.
