This is a half-length portrait of Mr. Ng Eng Kiat (黄英杰) seated behind a desk. He was Director of the Sim Lim Finance Limited (1983); Council Member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce (1973-1986); Managing Director of the Far Eastern Bank Limited (1967-1970); and Chairman and Joint Managing Director of the People's Insurance Company Limited (1967). His father, Mr. Ng Quee Gam (黄桂岩) is a rubber merchant and the eldest son of multi-millionaire businessman, Mr. Ng Eng Kee (黄永祺). His uncle, Mr. Ng Quee Lam (黄桂楠), was a rubber merchant and Committee Member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Title devised by Library staff.
