This is a half-length portrait of Brigadier-General (Reservist) Tan Chin Tiong, Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprise or SCORE in 1985. He joined the Administrative Service in 1967. He was Deputy Chief of General Staff at the Singapore Armed Forces (1982); Second Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs (Sep 1982-Mar 1986); Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs (Apr 1986-), Finance, Information and the Arts, and Foreign Affairs (Apr 1997-Jul 2004); and Chairman of CISCO (Nov 1986). He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1976 and the Public Administration Medal (Military) (Gold) in 1981 by the Singapore Government. Title devised by Library staff.
