The National Museum, with its distinctive rotunda, was closed in 2003 for restoration works and the construction of the new annexe behind the main museum building. Stamford Road runs in front of the museum and turns to Fort Canning Road on the left. Wesley Methodist Church, with its unique spire, is partially visible behind the new museum building.
