This is a close-up portrait of Mr. Wee Chong Jin (b.1917-d.2005), wearing a full-bottomed wig. He was the first Asian to be appointed as Chief Justice of Singapore on 5 January 1963, at the age of 46, serving until 27 September 1990. He was Judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore (Aug 1957-Jan 1963), and President of Singapore Golf Association (1965-1970). Title devised by Library staff.
