This is an aerial view of the construction site of Jurong Power Station and its tall cooling tower at Jurong Pier Road in Jurong Industrial Estate. The steel and boiler structures of the power station were fabricated and erected by Jurong Shipyard Limited for Public Utilities Board of Singapore. It was declared open by Dr. Goh Keng Swee, Minister for Finance, on 7 August 1970. It was expanded in 1974 with the addition of three new 120 MW steam turbines. Title devised by Library staff.
