Commanding Officer of the 5th Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment or 5 SIR (right), is accepting a plaque from Commanding Officer of the 2nd King Edward XII's Own Goorkhas (The Sirmoor Rifles) during the taking over of the Slim Barracks at Portsdown Road. The barracks was the homes of the Gurkhas Regiment from 1949 to 1971 and later home to the 5 SIR (formed on 1 November 1968) from 1971 to 1990. TItle devised by Library staff.
