An advertisement by Metro and Metrotex department stores with the slogan "always something exciting enviable and nice". Text in English and Chinese. Metro(美罗) and Metrotex(美珑) were established by Mr. Ong Tjoe Kim in 1957 and 1965 respectively. Metro was located in a row of shophouses at 72-74, High Street while Metrotex began in Liat Towers. In 1975, Metrotex was relocated to Scotts Road and renamed "Metro Orchard". Mr. Ong set up his first Metro store in Surabaya, Indonesia, in 1953.
