This is a facade of the two-storey Dental School on the grounds of Singapore General Hospital at Sepoy Lines. In the foreground is an open-air car park. The building was open in 1938, and closed temporarily between 1939 and 1945. The School of Dentistry in King Edward VII College of Medicine was established in 1929. It became part of Faculty of Medicine of University of Malaya in October 1949, and then University of Singapore in January 1962. On 31 August 1966, Department of Dentistry attained Faculty status. Faculty of Dentistry was relocated to a modern three-storey complex in National University of Singapore in April 1986. A new building was built at 11, Lower Kent Ridge Road, and inaugurated by Mr. Wong Ngit Liong, Chairman of NUS Board of Trustees, on 7 April 2010. Title devised by Library staff.
