This is a group photograph of the pupils of Pei Chun Public School (公立培群学校) in front of their school building at Anderson Road. The Chinese-medium school was established in a shophouse at Tanglin Road on 12 May 1933. It subsequently moved to different locations, including a shophouse at Orchard Road (1935), an old bungalow at Anderson Road (1946) and a bungalow at Balmoral Road (1947), before settling in Toa Payoh in January 1970. The new premises was declared open by Dr. Lee Chiaw Meng, Minister for Education, on 29 June 1973. In August 2001, the school moved to a newly built premises at 16, Lorong 7 Toa Payoh. The new premises was declared open by Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence, on 12 July 2003. Past principals include Mr. Foo Tuck Sun (符德新, 1941-1970); Mr. Chen Keng Juan (陈经源, 1970-Dec 2002); Mr. Chin Kim Woon (陈京文, 2002-2008); and Mr. Lee Lip Hong (李立弘, Dec 2008-to date).
