This is a collage of three photographs showing the progress of the mounting of the polygonal shaft of the air traffic control tower of Changi International Airport. Located at the eastern edge of Singapore, the airport was operational on 1 July 1981 and it was officially declared open by Mr. Howe Yoon Chong, Minister for Defence, on 29 December 1981.
