This is the façade of the clock tower and front porch portico of Anglo-Chinese School at Barker Road, off Dunearn Road. The school was declared open by Sir Franklin Gimson, Governor of Singapore, on 29 September 1950. In 1977, the Pre-University classes moved to the newly constructed Anglo-Chinese Junior College at 25 Dover Close East, off North Buona Vista Road, leaving the Barker Road campus to the Anglo-Chinese Secondary School and Anglo-Chinese Junior School. The secondary school became independent in 1988 and known as Anglo-Chinese School (Independent). It moved to its new premises at 121 Dover Road in January 1992. Title devised by Library staff.
