This photograph shows a spirit medium carrying out a ritual during the birthday celebration for Taoist deity, Xuanwu (玄武). A temporary tent has been set up on an open field near Xuan Wu Tian Gong temple (玄武天宫) at Jalan Bukit Merah. A group of people are following him from behind while two men wearing white polo shirt and yellow pants flank him on both sides. An offering table with statues of deity can be seen in the background.
