This photograph shows a cityscape view of Orchard Road area from Bras Basah Road. Amber Mansions is on the left with Supreme House behind it, and Cathay Building, the tallest building in the vicinity, is on the right. Supreme House is a 13-storey office and shopping complex. The building was reopened as Park Mall in 1992. Amber Mansions, a mixed-use development, was built in 1922 but was demolished to make way for Dhoby Ghaut MRT station in 1984. The 16-storey Cathay Building was opened in 1939 and was gazetted as a national monument in 2003. This photograph is part of the Datuk Seri Lim Chong Keat Collection. Title devised by Library staff.
