This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Chia Ban Seng (谢万森), Chairman of Deyi Secondary School Advisory Committee from 1980 to 2006. He was Director and later Managing Director of Indocement Singapore Private Limited (1982-to date); Director (1996) and later Deputy Chairman of Singapore Chinese Orchestra (2000); Member of Board of Trustees of Chinese Development Assistance Council, Board of Governors of Chinese Heritage Centre and Board of Trustees of Nanyang Technological University (2006-to date); Council Member of Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan (2010-to date); President of Association of Nanyang University Graduates (1995-2001); Member of Nanyang Junior College Management Committee (1980-1989); Vice-President of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1997-2003, 2005-2007). He was conferred the Public Service Medal and the Public Service Star in 1990 and 2002 respectively. Title devised by Library staff.
