Information About

The 1970s photograph shows an angled view of the Sri Mariamman Temple's entrance. Built in Dravidian style, Sri Mariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore. A six-tiered ornamental tower of intricately carved sculptures of Hindu deities and other cultural figures sits atop the temple's entrance. The tiers of the ornamental tower are slightly pyramidical in shape, with each tier slightly smaller than the one beneath it. Sculptures of cows also adorn the walls extended from the left and right sides of the temple's entrance tower. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
