This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Ho Kok Hoe, an architect of Swan and Maclaren, and President of Singapore Art Society from 1954 to 1968; succeeding Dr. C.A. Gibson-Hill of Raffles Library and Museum, who served from 1950 to 1953. He was awarded the Public Service Medal in 1983. His father, Mr. Ho Kwong Yew, was a well-known Singaporean architect.
