This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Chew Swee Kee, Minister for Education from 1955 to 1959. He was one of the members of the successful All-Party Constitutional Mission to London in April 1957, representing the Labour Front Party. He was elected President of the Party in 1957.
