This picture depicts a view of the St. Andrew's Mission Hospital (left background) at the junction of Tanjong Pagar Road (foreground) and Hoe Ching Road. The four-storey building was formerly known as "Globe Building" or "Hoe Chiang Building", a coffee powder factory owned by a well-known businessman, Mr. Lim Teck Kim. The hospital relocated from Erskine Road to Tanjong Pagar Road in 1948, and later moved to Aljunied Road in 1996. Title devised by Library staff.
