This is a 1982 photograph depicting shophouse no. 49 at Neil Road, opposite Kreta Ayer Road. The two-storey shophouse has a French window flanked by two casement windows on the upper floor, all covered with wooden louvred shutters. Below the windows can be seen plaster bas-relief panels. This shophouse is part of the rows of shophouses in the Tanjong Pagar area of Neil Road which have been conserved. Title devised by Library staff.
