This is a portrait of Mrs. Anamah Tan, a prominent lawyer and Board Member (since 1992), Chairman of the 40th Anniversary Organising Committee (1988) and later Vice-President of the National Council of Social Service from 2000 to 2004. She was also Founder Member (since 1974), Executive Committee Member (since 1994), and President (1977-1981, 1988-1995) of the Singapore Association of Women Lawyers; Council Member (1977-1981, 1993-1997) and Law Society Counsellor (since 2001) of the Law Society of Singapore; Member of Board of Directors of the National Crime Prevention Council (since 1992); Committee Member of the ASEAN Law Association (since 1997); Founder Member (since 1980) and President of the Singapore Council of Women's Organisation (1991-2000); President of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Confederation of Women's Organisations or ACWO (2000-2002); and Member (since 1996) and President of the International Council of Women (2003-2006). She was made a Justice of the Peace (1998) and conferred Public Service Medal and Public Service Star in 1993 and 1998 respectively for her contributions and services to the public.
