This is a view of the new four-storey classroom block of Tanjong Katong Secondary Technical School at Tanjong Katong Road. It was declared open by Mr. J.F. Conceicao, Member of Parliament for Katong, on 5 June 1970. The school was founded in 1956. It was renamed "Tanjong Katong Secondary School" in 1993. In 1996, it took over the premises of Tanjong Katong Girls' School at Tanjong Katong Road. In 1998, it was relocated to a new premises (former site of Dunman High School) at 130, Haig Road. The premises was declared open by Mayor Eugene Yap in 2000. It was granted autonomous status by Ministry of Education in January 2005. Past principal of Tanjong Katong Secondary Technical School are Mr. Naganathan Vaithinathan (1956-Jun 1968); Mr. Andrew Yeo Boon Hin (1968-1979); Mr. Tan Thiam Hock (陈天福, Jan 1979-1990); and Miss Seah Jiak Choo (1990-1993). Past principals of Tanjong Katong Secondary School include Mr. Wong Siew Hoong (Jun 1991-1996); Miss Esther Lai Choon Lian (1997-Dec 2002); Madam Priscillia Chan Gek Lian (陈玉莲, Dec 2002-2004); and Mr. Lee Yan Kheng (李延庆, Jan 2007-to date).
