This 1983 photograph shows shophouses, no. 39 and 40 China Street. Taken from Cross Street (corner at west side), it shows two units of two-storey shophouses with three arch windows on the upper floor. At the lower floor of the unit on the right, can be seen some displayed goods. There are also many motorcycles and bicycles parked by the roadside in front of the shophouses.
