This is a photograph of a crowd awaiting for the qurban (a sacrifice of a livestock animal during Eid al-Adha/Hari Raya Haji) to begin at En-Naem Mosque (120, Tampines Road). In the left foreground is a flock of sheeps that are imported from Australia. These sheeps are to be sacrificed and their meat distributed to the less fortunate. The act of qurban is a symbolic repetition of Prophet Abraham's sacrifice of a ram in place of his son. Title devised by Library staff.
