This is a photograph of visitors at the main entrance arch of the Tiger Balm Gardens or Haw Par Villa (虎豹別墅) at Pasir Panjang Road. The oriental theme park was built by Mr. Aw Boon Haw for his brother, Aw Boon Par. It was opened in March 1937. In 1988, the Singapore Tourism Board took over the running of the Tiger Balm Gardens. It was reopened as Haw Par Villa Dragon World on 2 October 1990. In March 2001, the Singapore Tourism Board renamed it Tiger Balm Gardens. Title devised by Library staff.
