This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Kwek Leng Joo, President of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1993-1997, 2001-2005). He was Executive Director of Hong Leong Group Singapore; Director (since Feb 1980) and Managing Director of City Developments Limited (Jan 1995-to date); Executive Director of City e-Solutions Limited (1989-to date); Vice-Chairman of Singapore Business Federation (2002-Jun 2008); Vice-President of ASEAN Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1996-2008); Chairman of Board of Trustees of National Youth Achievement Award Council (2001-2008) and Chinese Language and Culture Funds Management Committee (2004-2008). He was conferred the Public Service Medal in 2000 and the Public Service Star in 2005. His father, Kwek Hong Png, was the founder of Hong Leong Company in 1941. Leng Joo's elder brother, Kwek Leng Beng, is Executive Chairman of Hong Leong Group Singapore (1990-to date) and City Developments Limited (Jan 1995-to date). Title devised by Library staff.
