This picture depicts an aerial view of Jurong Lake with Jurong Industrial Estate in the background. The plot of land adjacent to Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim (top) was transformed into Jurong Park in 1976. The man-made island in the centre was developed into Jurong Country Club in 1975 while the strip of land below was turned into Japanese Garden in 1973. The inset (bottom left) depicts a view of the sea from the mouth of Jurong River. Title devised by Library staff.
