These are the performers of the Shen Chang Fu Circus (沈常福马戏团) which was one of the two well-known Chinese circuses in Singapore and Malaya. The other circus, founded in 1918, was the Da Tian Qiu Circus (大天球马戏团). Established in 1936, one of the attractions of the Shen Chang Fu Circus was the acrobatic performance by two sisters (squatting, from left), Gao Liandi (高莲娣) and Gao Xiaodi (高小娣).
