Miss Patricia Chan Li-Yin, international and national swimming champion, with fistfuls of medals that she had won in 1960s. In five Southeast Asian Peninsular Games (later SEA Games), she won a total of 39 gold medals. She also won the Sportswoman of the Year five times. She was a former student of Methodist Girls' School. Her brother, Mr. Alexander Chan Meng Wah, was winner of the Singapore Swimmer of the Year (1968-1969); and her father, Dr. Chan Ah Kow was winner of the Coach of the Year for three times.
