This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Dr. Tan Chin Nam who joined the Administrative Service in 1977 and served in the Ministry of Defence till 1982. He was General Manager and Chairman of National Computer Board (1987-1994); Managing Director of Economic Development Board (1986-1994); Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board (1994-1997); Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Labour (1997); and Chairman of the National Library Board (1995-2002) and Media Development Authority (2003-2011). Dr. Tan was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 1979, Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1982, Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1987 and Public Administration Medal (Gold)(Bar) in 2002.
