This is panoramic view of Kallang Road. On the bottom - wooden huts of Kampong Soopoo near the riverbank of Kallang Basin. Smokes were bellowing from the chimneys of the Kallang Gasworks (now demolished). The tall gas holder at the corner of Kallang Road and Crawford Street is a popular landmark at Kallang. Directly opposite the gas holder - Kwang Fu Primary School (later Tai Pei Buddhist Centre). Not far from the gasworks is Crawford Bridge, built across Rochor River.
