This is a photograph of Mr. Goh Chok Tong (left), First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, about to present the Singapore Armed Forces Colours to an officer of the 5th Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment or 5 SIR (formed on 1 November 1968) in 1986. 5 SIR also won the Best Infantry Unit awards in 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1994.
